Vice-President of Finance

This key member of the management team will proactively influence the executive team on strategy and tactical operations as the organization continues to develop and expand its business model. With a direct reporting relationship to the COO, this position will primarily be responsible for or contribute significantly to the following areas:

  • Accounting: You will oversee the accounting functions and manage the Controller and a team of 3 to 5. You will provide expert guidance on GAAP issues such as revenue recognition and FAS123r.
  • Treasury: You will manage the banking relationship, line of credit, and investment accounts.
  • Internal and External Financial Reporting: You will review and augment monthly, quarterly and year-end Financial Package. You will discuss the results with the Executive team.
  • Financial Planning & Analysis: You will work with the Management team to develop effective budgeting tools and models. You will prepare the annual budget and quarterly forecast. You will provide guidance on long term forecasting.
  • M&A: You will assist with assessing potential opportunities and spearhead the closing and post-closing efforts.
  • Tax: You will provide guidance on tax provision, assessing tax implications of international expansion, managing the tax relationship with domestic and/or international tax partners
  • Internal Controls: You will provide guidance and manage implementation of internal controls, proper workflow, policies and procedures, etc.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Currently VP of Finance of an Online Media Company
  • Deep understanding of online advertising economics
  • CPA with Tier 2 or Big 4 senior management experience
  • SEC filings and SOX404 compliance preferred (S-1)
  • M&A event management
  • Some exposure to International accounting, consolidation, and tax
  • Accounting system migration
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment
  • Strong analytical background, preferably with a public media company

Director, Strategic Advertiser Programs

The Strategic Programs division of Federated Media is responsible for developing, implementing, and executing leading edge, award winning interactive web marketing programs for FM’s largest and most important advertisers. Reporting to the VP of Ad Operations, you will be responsible for all aspects of delivering cutting edge interactive marketing programs and play a critical role in conceiving, developing and implementing FM’s emerging strategic processes & capabilities.

In this highly influential role, you will work across multiple teams and divisions (site authors, design, project management, technical development, ad operations, sales) and outside resources to drive creation, execution and optimization of conversational marketing program deliverables.

Roles and responsibilities include:

  • Manage the Strategic Programs team responsible for the full lifecycle program management of tier-1 programs, and lead tier-2 and tier-3 Internet marketing programs.
  • Manage and influence technology and ad serving platform development as it pertains to the development and support of complex interactive media campaigns and the enhancement of FM’s competitive capabilities.
  • Use your knowledge of ad serving technology, digital media and SEM/SEO trends to help sales pitch and close Conversational Marketing sales opportunities.
  • Manage and select best of breed 3rd party creative agencies to assemble web and media components.
  • Proactively manage monitor all custom ad campaigns and programs to ensure client expectations are met success metrics are achieved. Supervise regular milestone/checkpoint meetings with clients, sales, internal stakeholders, and/or creative agencies.
  • Ensure continuous, proactive & positive communications with clients, sales and creative agencies.

Qualifications:

  • MUST have 5+ years experience in online ad operations, ad platform technology and /or ad product management with an interactive marketing or online media firm (agency, publisher or search).
  • Understanding of latest developments in ad-serving, rich-media, social advertising, RSS, blog, forum and wiki technologies across Internet industry
  • Strong knowledge of the capabilities of 3rd party providers of technologies and services
  • Financial acumen desired including the ability to model costs and determine pricing that sales team must build into insertion orders
  • Proactive and authoritative personality who likes to run the show and deliver results
  • Strong Verbal and Written Communication; polished client presentation skills

Education: BA/BS in a relevant field and management experience in an Internet publishing, online advertising or search firm.

Regional Sales Manager

The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for maintaining and building advertising revenue for both existing key accounts and developing new opportunities within a large territory in partnership with an Account Executive. Ideal candidates will have a solid understanding of brand marketing as well as ways to position a large portfolio of brands to senior level marketers. The candidate must demonstrate a passion for online media and a firm comprehension of how the web is impacting media consumption and audience participation as well as an ability to think creatively and sell strategically. They will have a strong desire to win, and to continually develop their personal and professional skills. They must establish in person relationships with clients by conducting a high volume of face to face calls building credibility in the marketplace. The Regional Sales Manager will conduct a regular analysis of territory including accurate revenue forecasts and complete regular call reports to update sales management on account activity. This position reports to the Sales Director.

  • Establish Federated Media as the clear leader in Conversational Media & Marketing
  • Develop and execute account and territory strategies for long term development and revenue growth
  • Provide clients with a true consultative sales experience and engagement results.
  • Take strategic lead to prioritize and ensure proper account management both internally and externally
  • Secure strategic level relationships with client/agency contacts
  • Coordinate with and direct Sales Coordinator in resolving territory maintenance issues
  • Be the territory liaison for multiple internal teams
  • Accurate and timely communication to Sales Director of all relevant information regarding revenue and or advertiser relationships

Qualifications

Inside Sales Manager

FM is looking for a self-motivated, career-oriented sales professional to help us build our inside sales team. The ideal candidate should be passionate about online media and believe strongly in its value to marketers. The inside sales manager will make outbound sales calls to targeted customers, working the entire sales process - from initial contact to close - for prospects both large and small. This person will work with internal stakeholders in developing an inside sales team to compliment the direct sales force. The position is contract to hire.
